Discoloured Teeth

There are a range of causes of discoloured teeth including (most commonly) from food and drink such as wine, tea, coffee and soft drinks (particularly cola drinks). Smoking is another cause of stained teeth.

Teeth may also be stained from internal damage from trauma, genetic conditions, or exposure to certain antibiotics or excessive fluoride in childhood. Fortunately, there are a range of solutions to give you a beautiful whiter smile. These include:

  • Whitening – at Rodney Geelan Dental, we have a teeth whitening process which is dramatically sped up by using a professional ingredient and high-technology equipment that allows teeth to whiten in just a matter of minutes, not weeks.

We have been providing LaserBrite teeth whitening for over 10 years, as well as a range of other ‘in office’ and ‘take home’ options available. Combinations of these techniques can also be used for optimum and fast results. The following gives you an idea of what four shades lighter (the typical result) looks like.

  • Veneers – for a stain that is harder to fix, dental veneers may be the best option. These thin ceramic shells sit over the top of your existing teeth and are colour matched to surrounding teeth. In addition to covering up stains, veneers can also provide a great solution for teeth that are chipped or crooked

In all things, we want to help you understand which option is best for your teeth. Call (03) 6331 6826 or 6331 8882 NOW for your free, no obligation, appointment.
